COVID-19 FAQ
Large family of viruses. Some can cause illness in people or animals. In humans, it’s known to cause respiratory infections.
Fever, cough, difficulty breathing, severe illness
There is no specific treatment for illness from the virus and no preventative vaccine. Those with symptoms of the virus should receive proper care to relieve their symptoms.
Elderly adults are at a higher risk of getting sick as well as people with chronic conditions like lung disease, heart disease, and diabetes.
It can spread between people who are in close contact with one another (within 6 feet), through respiratory droplets produced from coughing or sneezing and touching an object with the virus on it.
Only get tested if you have symptoms. Elderly patients that have medical conditions should call their doctor. Proper rest should help with the illness. There’s no need to see a doctor if you only have mild symptoms.
- Clean your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after going to the bathroom, before eating, after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing
- If soap and water aren’t available use hand sanitizer containing at least 60% alcohol
- Avoid touching eyes, nose, mouth with unwashed hands
- Avoid close contact with someone who is sick
- Stay home when you are sick
- Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze or use your sleeve versus your hands
- Disinfect and clean objects and surfaces that are frequently touched
For most people, the risk is still rather low. It depends where you’re located and if there’s an outbreak there. Be aware of the current situation in your area and where you plan to go.
Dryer Vent Duct Fogging
Duct fogging is an environmentally safe and pet friendly duct cleaning solution that kills germs in your dryer vent duct while keeping your indoor air quality at optimal levels. Cleaning the interior of your dryer drum and flow transition is important but it is not the only step that needs to be taken. Aside from killing and ridding your systems of all mold, debris, and bacteria, it’s essential to prevent them from growing back again.
Sanitize your dryer along with duct-transition leading to exterior of home to keep them clean and free of debris and buildup. Sanitation may also be required if your dryer interior has become stained due to items being left in the wash, such as pens or crayons, or because of fabric bleeding. If desired, we can also take the opportunity to clean the exterior of the dryer.
Bacteria Sanitizing
Alberta Duct Services uses Sporcidine, an sterilant and high-level disinfectant solution, that sanitizes and seals the ducts. This fogging process has a number of different uses including odor control, sanitizing, and pest control along with preventing the growth of mold in your transition.
Bacteria, mildew and other biological growths can thrive inside a duct system due to its dark, cool moist environment. To remove biological contamination and to protect against future growth you may want to consider duct sanitizing for your dryer vent system. Duct sanitizing is a process in which an EPA approved chemical sanitizing agent is thoroughly applied to the inside of your duct-work to eradicate germs and biological growth and to prohibit the future growth of said contaminates.
Features and Benefits of Sporcidine:
The benefits of duct fogging/sanitizing include improved indoor air quality, reduction of airborne allergens and keeping your duct system clean of future contamination. If healthier indoor air is a priority for your home and your family then you should consider having a professional duct sanitizing done on your dryer vent system.
Here are some of the many uses for Sporcidine: it is the same sterilant and disinfectant often used for disinfecting of hospitals, medical, dental and veterinary instruments and equipment. It is also used in cleaning and decontaminating surfaces found in hospital treatment and patient rooms, operating rooms, labs, schools, ambulances, hotels, and restaurants.
